Battery thermal management

The battery is essential to operate electric vehicles. Its most important task is to provide the power levels required for driving quickly and reliably. The optimum temperature is crucial for a long battery life: from an operating temperature of around +40°C, service life is drastically reduced. Below -10° C, efficiency drops off and performance sinks. We develop HVAC systems that take into account short-term peak loads, excessive temperature differences between individual cells, and very high or low outdoor temperatures. Well-thought-out thermal management is an immensely important factor in maintaining the durability of batteries and keeping their performance high.

Service life and sustainability.

Environmental requirements in the area of NVH (noise, vibration, harshness)

Thermal management systems must be robust enough to withstand mechanical stresses such as shock and vibration. This is particularly important for charging infrastructures in harsh environments. The systems must therefore work reliably under extreme conditions and meet the requirements for pressure resistance, vibration and acoustics.

The ‘green construction site’ in urban areas

E-Baufahrzeuge

The ‘green construction site’ in urban areas pursues sustainable construction practices in which thermal management and the integration of energy storage systems play a crucial role. These technologies help to maximise energy efficiency, reduce emissions and improve comfort for workers. Energy storage systems help to operate energy-efficient heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as mobile cooling and heating stations. They reduce the need for external power, lower operating costs and minimise the environmental footprint of a construction site. It also ensures that the construction site is reliably supplied with energy even during power outages or peak loads.
