Hohenems, 5th September 2025 – A significant milestone for Aircontech GmbH: In a festive setting at the innovation award ceremony 2025 in Otten Gravour Hohenems, our company was awarded for its outstanding innovative achievement. Together with six other Vorarlberg companies, we were honoured to receive the Vorarlberg Innovation Award – the highest honour in the area of innovation, awarded by the state and chamber of commerce of Vorarlberg. But that’s not all: The independent specialist jury in Vorarlberg also put Aircontech forward for the State prize for innovation – the highest national recognition for innovative companies in Austria. The same applies to the ECONOVIUS special prize which honours small and medium-sized companies in particular for innovations that are particularly relevant to the economy.
Our application focused on a groundbreaking thermal management system that keeps batteries in mobile and modular energy storage systems reliably within the optimal temperature range of -40°C to +55°C even under extreme climatic conditions. The innovation based on the intelligent combination of proven components from different sectors, sophisticated regulation and control software and a customised design which meets the requirements of modern energy storage systems. The result: a significant ecological benefit and an important contribution to a sustainable energy future – for mobile, efficient and flexible use.
In total, 21 projects were submitted for this years innovation award. A nine member, independent specialist jury selected seven award winners, among them Aircontech. The award not only underlines the high degree of innovation of our company, but also our consistent focus on market-ready, sustainable solutions in the area of energy storage and thermal management.
Regional councillor Marco Tittler emphasised at the award ceremony: “The award-winning projects superbly demonstrate that Vorarlberg companies are at the forefront of progress with creative solutions and high implementation strength.“
The president of the chamber of commerce Karlheinz Kopf also praised the innovative strength of local businesses: “The award winners have shown that Vorarlberg companies are competitive internationally thanks to their vision, sustainability and entrepreneurial spirit.“
For us at Aircontech, this prize is not only confirmation of our work, but also an incentive to continue to resolutely persue our innovative strategy. Our thanks to the entire Aircontech team, partners and customers who have made this success possible. The market launch is now taking place in stages, in close consultation with our customers and partners, in order to optimally reflect individual requirements and utilise the full potential of our solution. The goal in the coming months is to make widespread application in the field of mobile and modular energy storage possible – efficiently, sustainably and reliably under all climatic conditions.
